Why Tech?

One of my childhood fantasies was to build video games because I love video games. I had always wondered how games where developed. My little mind knew it was all technology and i couldn't wait to build my gaming platform. I love Contra, Prince of Persia, Battle City, Gangster Paradise ,Grand Theft, adventures majorly.
Back to college, I had my first encounter with programming; visual basic, through a friend. It was interesting and I built my first calculator. OMO!...I felt GOOD😊. I just knew then that tech is my thing. I went on to build other small projects and use it for my final year project.
My early misconceptions about tech
- Java is JavaScript. 🤣
- Programming is a hobby (something you do for fun).
- I will start coding when I am done making money.
Being a graduate of petroleum engineering, I had hoped to work in an oil and gas firm but things didn't go as planned. I told myself if I skill up in tech I will be relevant in the oil and gas industry. So, I decided to pick up programming again. I started learning Python on my own. I started with Python because of it's huge applications in the oil and gas industry, data analysis and so forth...
I got an internship. Another news, the internship is for web development and coding with JavaScript. Me: let's do it...
The Way Forward
From my experiences so far, I can say that i have strong passion for building things so tech was a good way to explore and manifest that part of me. And truly, I am excited when I build applications or my ideas come to life.
Couple with the fact that I get to make cool cash from it, it's worth it.
* And the journey has been amazing💕*
